Innovative Technologies

Electrical Impedance Tomography produces three-dimensional images of buried objects.  Utilizes measurements of resistivity, conductivity and induced polarization to distinguish material differences.  System is non intrusive and is immune to magnetic interferences, which hamper current geo-physical technologies.  Applications include Ordnance and Explosive location, underground storage tank location, petroleum storage facility leak detection and monitoring, landfill investigation, and archeological investigation.  Underwater testing for tactical applications for US Navy currently in progress.

Pulse laser for surface contamination removal – laser emits light pulses that generate a plasma at the interface between a surface and the contamination (e.g. paint, epoxy, radiological).  System has been used to remove fixed radiological contamination.   Surface temperature is less than 140F mitigating vaporization of contaminants.   Suitable for clean removal of surface contamination with no damage to the substructure.  No additional waste stream from abrasive blast material (e.g. CO2, water, sand, slag).

Ordnance and Explosives (OE) destruction – Innovative incendiary compound that burns at 4000K.  More cost effective than C-4.  Thimble size package burns through shell/mine casing and ignites the explosives initiating an “Open Burn” destruction of the OE item.  Lack of explosion minimizes collateral damage to personnel, property and the environment.  Suitable for the destruction of Improvised Explosive Devices (IED)s.

Additional applications for material cutting to support de-construction industries such as ship scrapping, building demolition, road and bridges.
